Homework due April 18th
Assalam alaikom parents and students in grade 3!
We are moving up to high gear to get our kids ready for grade 4! To those ends we have been working in class this week learning about:
Research, Reports, and Source books.
Together in class this week we have written three research reports about various animals. We have worked together as a whole class, as a small group, and individually to locate source books, find important information inside them, and then turn that information into brief research reports.
Your student will be coming home tomorrow with a very important sheet. On one side it will have information they have found about Bats. They have worked to find this information and have already written a report using it. On the back side of this sheet is a blank template with the same research questions, and a different animal noted. Each student has a different animal. Over the break they should look up information about their animal, fill in this organizer, and write paragraphs about the information. They final written report may be handwritten or typed.
They have been told they may use the internet to look up information, or use books they borrow from the library if they do not have computer access at home. If they will be using the computer we always recommend parental supervision, but they should be capable of reading and understanding what they find on their own. You should NOT be helping them with that
Thank you so much for your time and support as always!
This report and graphic organizer will be collected on April 18th in class.
This *is* the writing topic for Quarter 4, and will be a huge leg up for them in the coming years of their education.

PS... a copy of the report sheet is included just in case any child has a mishap with theirs, but please try and keep to the assigned animal.
